Do you offer different balance options for your Iaito?
Last Updated: 2018-07-18
The balance tends to be quite similar on all our Iaito. Most tsuba have a similar weight. Our Iaito are made in such a way that the point of balance is set further from the kissaki and closer to the tsuba than shinken or other blades. The reason being that repetitive movements performed during Iaido training with a shinken with the point of balance closer to the kissaki may lead to injuries to the wrist and arm joints. Having said that, by selecting a habahiro type blade the point of balance will be closer to the kissaki than a standard or an extra light blade.
