The TokurenŽ Chi Bogu Set is made with Shiai in mind, it's light yet protective, featuring a 6mm Cross-pitch stitching. The Cross-pitch stitching gives this machine-stitched Bogu qualities similar to that of Hand-stitched Bogu sets and makes the Bogu very comfortable to wear, with the Bogu forming after the body of it's user.

The Men uses a Duralumin Mengane to make the Men as light as possible to allow for maximum mobility. The Men futon is stitched with Cross-pitch stitching to provide flexible and protective futon, combined with the short Mendare in Cross-pitch Nanamezashi stitching that makes the Mendare more pliable and allows for a wider range of movements.

The Kote are light and made in Orizashi cotton, these Kote are made to allow for very dynamic movements, and puts less strain in your fingers, wrists and arms. Since the Kote is made in Orizashi cotton, it also good a absorbing moisture and dries rapidly. The Tenouchi is made using Micro-punch Clarino to keep your Kote ventilated and since the Kote does not contain any Deerskin parts, they are also washable.

With emphasis on lightness, this Bogu comes with a 50pc Black Yamato Do which is light and protective, combining the beautiful ribbed features of a Bamboo do with the lightness of a plastic fiber Do.

Lastly the Tare are made with Cross-pitch stitching to allow for a light, yet flexible and protective Tare. The Tare features Orizashi decorations and reinforcements and does not have any Herikawa, giving it an unique yet simplistic look similar to a Fukuronui-style Tare.

Tozando staff are helpful and responsive, everything arrived just 9 days after ordering.
This kendogu is high quality, well-constructed, and fits great. Each piece is light, comfortable, and easy to move in; the 6mm cross-stitch looks nice and holds its shape well.
For my size (171cm/70.3kg), this set weighs a total of 3,833g.
Men fitment is excellent; uchiwa is soft and gently holds the face, mendare are flexible and easy to perform furikaburi and jodan in.
Kote are soft and pliable; futon doesn’t become too narrow towards the tsutsu, atama protects the fingers very well, micro-punch tenouchi gives a good grip and allows the kote to breathe.
Do-dai and mune fits me nicely and protects well.
Tare is extremely light and easy to move in but I wish it were a little thicker or had herikawa to give it more substance; it does an adequate job of absorbing the impact of the occasional strike.
I would be impressed to see what continued refinements are implemented on the Tokuren ZX Gold!
