Super-Light 'Keiryo Toshin' Blade - this is our brand new blade option, which make our famous Iaito blades lighter, and better balanced than ever before!!

Extra Deep Groove - This takes even more weight out of the blade, without compromising on strength, giving you the chance to create the lightest possible combination of options! Better still the Extra Deep Groove given an enhanced sound when travelling through the air, giving you fantastic feedback on your cuts and movements!

Note that selecting "Hyoujun" or "Habahiro" - for the blade option, will make the weight similar to the other Iaito swords in our range.

The Hachi No Su Koshirae features a swirl design in the Fuchi/Kashira and the Menuki which is made in brass. The Tsuba is iron-made with a matching design.

Saya lacquer is available in Kuroro, Kuroishime and Chaishime. A sand-casted, a bubble-free zinc/aluminum alloy blade available up to 2.70 shaku. 5 of 5 First iaito and I'm delighted September 29, 2019
Reviewer: Richard from PACA, France
Beautifully crafted iaito, no rattling sound, nice cutting sound. It is quite "heavy" (around 1kg) due to the options I chose  but it is what I wanted.

I would totally recommend this product to someone who has been regurlarly practicing for 2 to 3 years (or more).

My extra light Iaito is amazing it's like but not too late and is strong stronger than I thought it'll be.  They really outdid themselves with this model.

5 of 5 Happy Customer August 19, 2019
Reviewer: Gregory Condemi from Ridge, NY United States
I received my iaito in good condition, and in the time frame promised. It appears to be very well constructed. I asked for a somewhat thicker tsuka and left a weight and balance request. All my requests were honored. I am a happy customer! Thank you, Tozando.

5 of 5 A Beautiful Sword.. September 13, 2013
Reviewer: Scott Van Ekeris from Mooroolbark, Victoria Australia
The habahiro blade combined with the extra deep bohi effortlessly produces a beastly tachikaze and is the perfect weight (~880g w/o the saya). The point of balance is roughly 5" from the habaki which lends the blade a quick and lively response in hand despite the habahiro style. The aesthetics of the sword have given an overall elegance that only the Gifu/Seki smiths could produce. Itomaki is rock solid with perfect 'diamonds' in the proper alternating weave. Interestingly the cotton iron navy colour is more greenish rather than blue which is negligible.

The habaki fits securely within the koiguchi  and due to countless noto; the pressure exerted to perform nukitsuke is now perfect.

After two months of near daily practice this iaito has almost become a part of my arm. The combination of balance point, nagasa and waisted tsuka have created a responsive yet properly weighted sword that has slowed me down and helped perfect technique.
