Masanobu was from the Bingo Mihara school, a Yamato style (yamato-den) swordsmith school. Their swords are often referred to as "Ko-Mihara", and many of the swords made by this school are considered important historical masterpieces, although many of their earlier works were never signed, thus many swords are simply referred to as "Ko-Mihara", without being attributed any specific swordsmith.
