At Tozando, when it comes to our iaido uniform sets, we care most about fabric, sewing, and fit.
Fabric: We use many types of fabrics in the construction of our uniforms. We sought out fabrics that are all made of new materials and take into consideration two very important things to the wearer – fit and ease of use.
Polyester is less prone to static electricity and doesn’t attract dirt. It helps the wearer feel clean and fresh.
Tetron is easy to clean making it great for those who will need to wash their uniform a lot – like beginners and those who are practicing a lot.
For example, Uchimizu fabric is quick drying and great at absorbing sweat. Because of this it helps keep you cool while practicing and keeps you from getting too chilly after your workout.
Cubic Sensor Stretch is another fabric that absorbs sweat and dries quickly. It also doesn’t stick to your skin and doesn’t wrinkle easily.
Sewing: Places that require precision or can’t be sewn on a machine are all sewn by hand. Our craftsmen pay careful attention to the unique qualities of each fabric and choose an appropriate method of sewing.
Fit: Our uniforms are designed to help you look great and stay looking great even after long, hard practices.
The hakama in Tozando’s iaido sets are all handmade by our tailors using the latest fabrics and techniques. We put all our energy into delivering a high-quality product directly to you from our facility in Kyoto.
