Kyoto Series Hand-Stitched Bogu set is at the apex of materials used, functional aesthetic and uncompromising craftsmanship. Each of Men, Do, Kote and Tare is meticulously assembled here in Kyoto, Japan by the hands of Tozando's own Bogu craftsmen led by Tahara Hirofumi.

All of the natural materials that go into the construction of this Kyoto Series Hand-Stitched Bogu are carefully selected for their innate perfection, such materials as Bushu's genuine indigo-dyed cotton, high grade Yamato deerskin, Kyoto Urushi lacquer. It is our intimate relationship with other domestic craftsmen that allows us to offer this top-notch quality piece of equipment at such an amazing value; Takai Nobuaki in Osaka for Mengane, Sato Ryohei in Kyoto for Japan Urushi lacquer, Sasaki Shigeru in Nara for Mune and Takemura Keishi in Saitama for Bushu indigo.

There is a point in Japanese aesthetic theory where form and function are so perfectly blended that one has transcended artifact and has entered the realm of art. Our Kyoto Series Hand-Stitched Bogu marks this transcendence. So ultimate is our Kyoto Series Hand-Stitched Bogu that our craftsmen themselves must be as carefully selected as are the natural materials that go into its construction.
