The Tensho style Fuchi/Kashira is made of brass and finished in antique silver style.. Tsuba is extra big and heavy and features theme of an eagle on pine tree to recall Maeda Keijifs favorite horse, Matsukaze(literally meaning pine tree and wind). Menuki is made of silver and features the big dragon. Tsuka is bound with blue cotton cord over red-lacquered stingray skin and Saya is Shuro(vermilion gloss finish). Sageo is a hand-woven Sanadahimo cord with sophisticated two-tone color. Proudly made in Japan.

If three candidates from Shinsengumi members were to be picked as the most skilled swordfighter, Saito Hajime would perpaps be announced at first. In Shinsengumi, Saito Hajime was said to be an introvert and a mysterious person; a common description of his personality says he "was not a man predisposed to small talk" however, the sword he owned was Kijinmaru Kunishige, known as the Ogre's knife. Needless to say that Sakamoto Ryoma is one of the most respected Samurai in Japanese history and his dramatic life is often adopted for novel, musical, theater and film. His favorite sword to carry with was Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki. It is said to be the Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki that he had with when he was attacked and killed at O-miya, and his Yoshiyuki blade is being preserved at the Kyoto National Museum. This Ryoma Koshirae sword is a reproduction of the Ryoma's Yoshiyuki to pay the tribute to the last Samurai hero.

Uesugi Kenshin was one of the many powerful lords of the Civil War period of Japan in Echigo province. He is famed for his prowess on the battlefield, the legendary rivalry with Takeda Shingen, his military expertise, strategy and his belief in the god of war Bishamonten. In fact, many of his followers and others believed him to be the avatar of Bishamonten, and called Kenshin god of war. This Koshirae is a faithful reproduction of sword Uesugi Kenshi was actually wearing all the time, Himetsuru Ichimonji. This Tsuba-less Ichimonji is the typical Uesugi clan's Uchigatana style.

Genuine black leather Tsuka cord is wrapped over the blackened Tsukasame and Saya is lacquered Kuroro(black gloss finish). Cotton black Sageo is also included.
