We are pleased to introduce to you the new Tozando semi-custom Iaito sword, "Tenryu"!

Tenryu literally means a dragon in the sky, and we define this sword as an advanced model of Toryumon series Iaito.

Like our Suzaku Custom Iaito and Custom Workshop Iaito, you may choose the different blade type; standard, extra-light and extra-wide which allows you to find the best suitable sword for your die-hard Iai practice.

Tenryu sword also offers you the semi-customization for the fittings. You have two choices for Fuchi/Kashira; a set of Ajiro (wickerwork) pattern and Ume(a plum tree) Fuchi/Kashira with a variety of Menuki now available.

You then can choose your Tsuba from a variety of designs.

Saya lacquer is available in Kuroro, Kuroishime or Chaishime.

A sand-casted, a bubble-free zinc/aluminum alloy blade is available up to 2.60 shaku. You can chose between Hyoujun (normal, up to 2.45 shaku), Keiryo Toshin (extra-light, up to 2.45 shaku) or Habahiro (extra-wide) blade types. For a 2.45 shaku blade, Hyoujou is about 835g, Keiryo Toshin 785g and Habahiro 920g for the Iaito without saya (indicative, final weight depends on the choice of fittings).

Please note that, because we would like to keep this price affordable, Tenryu offers a cotton Sageo and Tsuka wrapping over white or black stingray skin.

If you are no longer the entry level practitioner who is looking at the next phase, this Tenryu will be the best partner you work with.
So make your move now for the graceful strength with Tenryu!

I was very impressed with the quality of the sword and the timeframe for delivery given that it was flagged as a custom build.

Thank you for a great job.

Functional but flawed June 8, 2017
Reviewer: TJ from Colorado United States
I ordered a 2.60 shaku habahiro blade. The sword shipped a week later than the expected shipping date, but within the 4-6 week timeframe.
The blade is well-balanced and the mountings are attractive. I was warned that iaito from Tozando often have loose handles, but the tsuba, tsuka, and ito are tight and well put together.
Unfortunately, it looks as though the habaki was too large for the blade and a small piece of metal was inserted clumsily on one side to fill the gap. As a result, the blade is noticibly off-center in relation to the habaki. I understand that some corners must be cut to provide us with excellent prices and quick service, but this flaw is irritatingly obvious.
Additionally, but of less importance, the koiguchi of the saya came slightly chipped. After only a couple of days of light practice the blue paint below the lacquer began to show.
All in all, a functional product, but disappointing even for the price. I will purchase my next iaito elsewhere.
