Sunuke Bokken is often described as the total package of bokken quality for the solidness, color, balance and price. 101.5 cm. Chevroned spine. 

Made in Japan.

Please note that with Sunuke, it is important to be aware that in reality, it is an extremely rare and beautiful wood species made from aged, antique heart-wood of the Japanese Isu tree. A bokken made from Sunuke is a usually made from planks that are already over 100 years old. Therefore, although a great deal of care and attention goes into their production, it is naturally not possible for all Sunuke Bokken to be exempt from small imperfections. In Japan these ‘imperfections’ are generally considered to be a sign that the Bokken is indeed the genuine article, and therefore are preferred by some over Bokken which are without marks.

je viens de recevoir ce bokken en sunuke et c'est vraiment un bokken d'une finition absolument exceptionnelle, le bois est magnifique !!!! De plus, ce bokken porte la signature prestigieuse de l'atelier ARAMAKI.
je recommande particulièrement ce bokken !

I ordered my sunuke bokken on Monday and received it Thursday (in South Korea). I am always stunned at the excellent customer service at all of the Tozando shops. More than that, my sunuke bokken is truly, truly beautiful. My other bokken is an Isu (same tree but not heart wood) and is also very esthetically pleasing but noticeably lighter. I love the warm color of the wood and the variations in the grain and figure of the wood. Also, because it is very hard, it's surface texture is very smooth....just fantastic.
