Home > IAIDO > Iaito Sword >   The Legend Series: Miyamoto Musashi's Kaneshige Koshirae Alternative Views: Miyamoto Musashi is, without doubts, the most famous swordman in Japanese history and also recognized in the world as well. His fame remains probably because his life, skill and swordmanship were, and still are, being adopted for such popular cultures as novel, theater, movie, comic and music. Also his undefeated record has brought his being up to the myth. Tozando is proud to present this Iaito sword that is faithfully reproduced from the Musashi's original sword with blade made by Kaneshige. A set of black plain Fuchigane and characteristic, or rather to say, boorish Tsukagashira(made of alloy) is securely attached on the Tsuka handle. With Menuki of wasp, the Tsuka is wrapped in unique Ganki-Maki, better known as Musashi-Maki, with suede type, black synthetic leather over black Tsukasame. Tsuba is the distinguishing Namako Sukashi Tsuba, also better known as Musashi Tsuba. The Saya is Tamenuri, multi-layered dark brown lacquer and the black silk Sageo also included. A sand-cased, extra-reinforced zinc/aluminum alloy blade provides the superb balance for the dynamic air-slashing move. Hamon pattern of Kaneshige blade, Miyamoto Musashi's the most favorite. Each parts are uncompromisingly hand-assembled by the Japanese sword craftsman, who is expert in making the genuine Japanese sword, Shinken. The blade is available up to 2.45 shaku.  Weight without Saya is approximately 830 gram(for 2.45 shaku). Proudly made in Japan.
