Top 5 Reason for you to choose Tozando Kyoto Tradition Series

    1. Hide for Menbuchi

Because the Menbuchi construction is extremely important, we choose only the finest rawhide and our master craftsman begins everything from scratch. Being able to choose the appropriate hide has a huge influence on making the well-balanced, aesthetically pleasing Kendo Men.

    2. Handmade Uchiwa

Many Kendo masters say that, if the Men is appropriately assembled, then Men himo are not necessary to put the Men on. This means the Uchiwa must be carefully assembled by hand to ensure a perfect fit.

    3. The Monomi

We attach the Uchiwa and Mengane according to the specifications of each order, unlike pre-made Men. The view through the Monomi, is considered critically important as it will affect your posture and performance.

    4. Tying the Menbuchi

Tying the Mebuchi onto the Men is also crucial. And Tozando uses a special, extra-strong cord to make it perfect.

    5. Japan Urushi Lacquer

No artificial lacquer is used. True, natural Japanese Urushi is a richer and deeper black. Tozando only uses genuine Japanese       Urushi which is made in Kyoto.
