Housen calligraphy bags allow you to compose your own color assortment, displaying a traditional Japanese saying or expression related to Budo practice.

Choose the bag color and embroidery thread color, then choose your favorite two-characters idiomatic phrase.

The Shinai bag is made of heavy duty, top quality 100% cotton canvas made and dyed in Japan.
The bottom is reinforced with genuine leather from the famous Tatsuno (Hyogo Pref) region.

More than 50 shades of embroidery thread are available. Housen bags color matching follow certain set of rules for aesthetic purposes, ensuring the high standard of quality of the brand.

Housen is a traditional bag maker located in the Hyogo prefecture in Japan. They are famous through-out Japan for they high quality Shinai and Bogu bags, which are considered by many to be of the highest quality available on the market today. Many Japanese Kendo students and Sensei use Housen bags or give them away as gifts for special occasions.
Due to strict quality control and many aesthetic rules when ordering, Housen is almost never sold outside of Japan. But in our efforts to make the highest quality equipment available for the international market, Tozando can now proudly offer Housen Brand products to our international customers.
