Hokushin Itto Ryu is wellknown as the mainstream school in late Edo Shogunate era because, from this school, there learned many historically influencial individuals as Sakamoto Ryoma, Todo Heisuke(Shinsengumi Corps), Yamanami Keisuke(Shinsengumi Corps) and Yamaoka Tesshu.
