Date Masamune(September 5, 1567 - June 27, 1636) was a Japanese samurai of the Azuchi-Momoyama period through early Edo period. Heir to a long line of powerful daimyo in the Tohoku region, he went on to found the modern-day city of Sendai. An outstanding tactician, he was made all the more iconic for his missing eye. A case of smallpox attacked his eye and would have killed him had he not gouged out his own eye. For this, Masamune was often called dokuganryu, or the "one-eyed dragon".

Very Very Good!!  excelente!, al momento su estructura en si es muy bella, se nota la calidad en toda su estructura, los de tozando, son muy atentos siempre responden tus preguntas y te ayudan, se demoro bastante en el envió pero al momento de japòn se demoro una semana al llegar a Chile y a mi casa.  todo excelente.  Muy recomendada.

Very good February 11, 2011
Reviewer: Thierry from France
I just received this iaitô: 2,45 shaku blade and 8,5 sun tsuka.

The exact weight without saya is 815 g, and the balance point is located 16 cm after the tsuba (i.e. 1/5 of the blade length, 2/5 of total iaitô length).

Expedition came approximately 6 weeks after purchase, and the travel from Osaka to France took only two days with UPS, package tracking was updated very frequently.

The iaitô is provided with a nice protection tissue cover, and travelled inside 1 layer of bubble plastic strapped up by newsprint balls in 2 cardboard boxes: very secure.

Finally the iaitô is worth the price if you consider that you have a genuine leather tsuka wrap and a very light weight. The 100% black beauty of this iaitô is very sober and pure, but eh, that's a matter of personal feelings so I let you judge by yourself :-)
