Alternative Views:	Akechi Koshirae is known as a sword of the Akechi clan's treasure and this new version of Akechi Koshirae is the faithful reproduction of the original family treasure that is today being preserved at Tokyo National Museum. The main characteristic of this special sword is, despite of the unsigned blade and simplified fitting ornaments, the utility as the battlefield sword. A plain black Fuchigane is made of iron and the Tsukagashira is buffalo horn in accordance with the original Akechi Koshirae. The theme of iron Tsuba is Hyotan Sukashi, a gourd-shaped hole. A selected navy silk Tsuka cord is bound in Katatemaki(spiral) style over the fully wrapped blackened Tsukasame and diamond-shaped(Hishigata) Menuki that is antique-silver finished. The Saya is lacquered Tamenuri style(the dark reddish gloss finish) and the navy silk Sageo is also included. A sand-cased, extra-reinforced zinc/aluminum alloy blade provides the superb balance for the dynamic air-slashing move. Each parts are uncompromisingly hand-assembled by the Japanese sword craftsman, who is expert in making the genuine Japanese sword, Shinken.
