Despite of the reasonable price, this Yamashiro BS Series Ajiro Koshirae has the higher grade look and feeling. The Fuchi/Kashira features a theme of bamboo basket and the hem is nicely plated in gold. Both Tsuba and Menuki also features the matching bamboo leaves theme that creates the classic appearance. Tsuka is wrapped with black cotton over a genuine rayskin. The saya is available in Kuroishime(black matte finished lacquer) and Kuroro(black gloss finished lacquer). A sand-casted, a bubble-free zinc/aluminum alloy blade available up to 2.45 shaku. Approximately 820 gram without the Saya for 2.45 shaku.

Ajiro Koshirae order and testing July 30, 2010

I got this sword in three months, due to another sword i ordered. When i opened the box it was nicely wraped in bublewrap and in a nice purple sword bag. The sword is lovely decorated, love the tsuba details.
Well i ordered to have a Notare Hamon, but i got a Suguha one. It still looks nice. And there is a small bump on the saya, but it looks nice and the feeling is perfect. The sword slightly moves you foward when you cut, what is perfect for me since im a girl. Except for the hamon and dent in the saya im satisfied with the order.
